The Hype Of Organic Foods – What Is The Differences ?

Organic food simple means that this type of food has not had any growth promotion, artificial fertilizer or any synthetic pesticides used on it. To put it more plainly, this simply means that organic food has certain standard levels that it must meet. Overall, eating organic food is a much healthier option for you and there are a variety of other reasons why you should choose to go organic.

Because organic food has not been exposed to harmful chemicals and has not been modified in any way, it therefore contains more nutrients than other non-organic foods. What’s further more, it has been proven by studies conducted that there are higher levels of antioxidants in addition to vitamin C found in organic foods.

This type of food is also much fresher than food that has been treated with chemicals. This is especially true in regards to food that has come from cattle because of the fact that cattle are given hormones in order to be able to produce more milk.

In turn, the hormones given to cattle then pass on through the milk you drink and in turn are now in your system as well. Because pesticides and other chemicals are not used on organic foods they will not make it into the ground and then make it’s way into the environment. This will also help to reduce health problems that farmers face as a result of using these chemicals.

However, it also goes to say that there are some disadvantages to going organic. The claim that organic is better for you has not entirely been embraced as being a valid claim. Additional testing must be done in order for this to become a true statement.

There is also a higher demand for organic food and as a result a lot of hard work has to go into making enough organic food for the population. Organic food does not grow as fast as food that is treated with chemicals because the chemicals speed up the production of food.

Should You Buy the Organic Foods?

There’s a lot of confusion over what organic means, and food with that label might not be as healthy or environmentally friendly as you think.

That being said, going organic is entirely a personal choice for you and your family.
